When we began our adventure with the Futsalplanet Awards we could not even think about reaching the 10th edition: well, believe it or not, we got it! Celebrating one more year of worldwide futsal it's therefore a great honour and joy for us, and let's hope we will be going on for more years to come!

Since January 10th to 18th, just before the beginning of the great hungarian event given by the UEFA Futsal Championships, the UMBRO Futsal Awards 2009 will represent an entertaining futsal party, with each of our nine awards categories beeing announced day by day.

As we've have always pointed out for each edition archived till now, let's remind that the Futsalplanet Awards event is to be intended just as a good way to celebrate futsal and not as something official. Our aim since the web site creation in 1997 is to "spread the word", something we believe is basic for a sport often "hidden" by the same persons who are supposed to work for its development.

So we highlight the real futsal characters rather than telling the endless tale of soccer stars who grew up playing futsal. Futsal belong to futsal people, and we work for them.
