- Iran Futsal success at 2008 World Cup Futsal

Iran Futsal team’s astonishing games at 2008 World Cup Futsal games on September was surely the highlight of Iran Sport Events of year 2008. Iran Futsal team managed by Hasan Shams, amazed World Cup officials and Iranian fans with their astonishing performance starting with their first game; holding the reigning champions, Spain 3-3, and narrowly going down 1-0 to World giant Brazil to reach Quarter Final and they only came short against Italy to leave the tournament.

Considering Iran Futsal team’s lack of challenging friendly games to prepare for the World Cup games, Iranian team showcased strong performances against World giants. Hence as expected, Iran Futsal team and Vahid Shamsai won "Asian Futsal team" and "Player of the Year" Awards. Shamsaie and Nazari were also selected among "Top Ten Players of 2008 Futsal World Cup".


- Iran women Futsal team's West Asian Championship

The recently developed Iranian women football is surely showing the improvements when Iran women futsal team was crowned as champions in the West Asian Clubs Futsal Tournament in Jordan.

Iran won the title after defeating Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine to reach Final to complete the winning streak with a 8-7 win over Jordan in the final game of the event.
