A great piece of futsal history, not only the South American one, was definitely written by the brazilian "teacher"
Fernando Ferretti. The former Brazilian and Guatemalan national teams head coach can count on an impressive career, but seems not to have any intention to stop or just decrease the standard of his work. The year 2007 is the clear demonstration of what we were talking about: if Malwee Futsal keep on being a worldwide dream team, this is not just given by their futsal craques.
Rain of titlesIf you want to see the "bad side of the moon", you could underline that Malwee has lost again to Interviu in the Intercontinental Cup final played in Portimćo (and the same in 2008 in Granada) or that they didn't manage to get the sixth "estadual" title of Santa Catarina (no worries, they just did it one year later, on past decembre 2008!). But what about the following... rain of titles? Let's tell it in Portuguese: tetracampeć Sul Americana (4th Conmebol futsal Champs South Zone title vs ACBF), tetracampeć Jogos Abertos Santa Catarina (4th Catarinense Open Games title) bicampeć Liga Nacional Futsal (2nd Liga Futsal title, and believe us... is not so easy to win there!!), tetracampeć Libertadores da América (4th Conmebol futsal Champs vs Bello Jairuby, this came in March 2008 but is part of the 2007 season) and Pentacampeć Taēa Brasil (5th Brazilian Cup title). Can you ask for more?
Paraguay consultantDue to his great experience and the respect gained in the whole futsal world, Ferretti was also appointed by the Paraguayan federation as a kind of technical supervisor, looking for the 2008 World Futsal Championship. Twelve months of intense and high level futsal for the winner of the
Umbro Futsal Awards 2007-> Best Club Coach of the World category!
