MILWAUKEE, PHILADELPHIA REMAIN WITH BEST RECORDS IN 2002-03 MISL STANDINGS

The Milwaukee Wave and Philadelphia Kixx continue to have the best records in the 2002-03 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) standings with a 9-2 and 10-3 ledgers, respectively, after each squad posted a victory on Nov. 30.

The Wave needed to go to overtime to top the host Dallas Sidekicks (3-10) 10:8 on Nov. 30, while the Kixx easily defeated the visiting San Diego Sockers (6-8) 12:4.

Prior to the match-up against the Wave, the Sidekicks dropped a 12:7 decision at home to the Kansas City Comets (5-6) a day earlier (Nov. 29).

In other MISL games, the visiting Baltimore Blast (4-8) posted a 10:8 overtime win against the Harrisburg Heat (5-7) on Nov. 30, while the host Comets lost to the Cleveland Force (6-4) 21:15.

The Heat rounded out the MISL action on Dec. 1, with a 12:10 overtime home victory over the Sockers.

Next round of 2002-03 MISL regular season matches start on Dec. 5, as the San Diego Sockers start a two-game home stand as they face the Cleveland Force on Dec. 5, and then meet the Milwaukee Wave the following day (Dec. 6). The Force continue their road swing with a match-up against the Harrisburg Heat, while the Philadelphia Kixx host the Baltimore Blast on Dec. 7. On Dec. 8, the Wave greet the Dallas Sidekicks, while the Kixx visit the Heat.

Baltimore Blast - Forward Giuliano Celenza (0 caps) scored twice, while player/coach Sean Bowers (5 goals, 23 caps) added a goal and an assist to pace Baltimore to a 10:8 overtime victory over Harrisburg on Nov. 30. Defender Dewan Bader (0 caps) dished out two assists, while goalkeeper Brett Phillips (10 caps) made 15 saves in the win. ... Cleveland Force - Midfielder Lee Edgerton (0 caps) and forward Steve Butcher (2 goals, 4 caps) both scored two goals in the 21:15 win over Kansas City on Nov. 30. ...
