What a worrying and disappointing news coming from Russia. Some days ago AMFR confirmed the withdrawal of two Superleague clubs. We're talking about the glorious Spartak Ruza (Russian champion 2000/2001 with the name of Spartak Moscow) and "younger" Dinamo St. Petersburg.

No doubts on the reasons, as both clubs announced their withdrawal due to financial troubles which didn't allowed them to complete the current season in Superleague. Spartak management staff communicated their decision on December 22nd, through a press release: "MFK Spartak (Ruza, Moscow region), announced the withdrawal from the main tournament teams, second and youth selections. The reason - lack of funding in the the club since several months. Most of the main players already moved to other clubs. In the near future the futsal club MFK Spartak will cease to exist as a legal entity."

Few weeks later same destiny for Dinamo St. Petersburg, that on January 6th released the following note: "Official Statement. Considering the precarious financial situation, mini-football club Dinamo St Petersburg withdrew from Super League 2008-09 season on 6th January 2009. On Jan. 11, 2009 at 15.00 will be played the last championship matches betweeb Dinamo St. Petersburg and FC Politech. After that the club Dinamo St. Petersburg will cease to exist. The entire staff of mini-football club Dinamo St. Petersburg wants to thanks all fans for their support. We were with you and we played for you.".


Due to the current regulations of the Russian Superleague, all matches played by Spartak Ruza and Dinamo St. Petersburg will be deleted and not considered, as they hadn't yet played half of the total amount of seasonal games.
