Football firm on the ball

A COMPANY that plans to spread Futsal, a fast-growing form of five-a-side football, throughout the UK, has raised £3.25m in funding from Foresight Ventures, a private-equity investor.

@Futsal will use the funds to build a chain of 30 indoor centres across the UK. The first has already opened in Swindon.

Futsal, which is the only form of indoor football endorsed by Fifa, Uefa and the FA, differs from the traditional five-a-side game because it prohibits the use of sidewalls and boards.
