Report by our albanian collaborator
Gjergj VyshkaAs reported in a previous news, nothing was sure about the continuity of
Edi Martini on the
Albanian Futsal National Team bench. And some days ago
Alfred Ziaji, head of the local futsal committee, has announced the new coach replacing Martini. We refer to
Armand Dama, who will have
Ramazan Konci as assistant trainer. Born on May 17th, 1972, Dama has played soccer with Partizan (both youth and A selections) beeing also selected for different age categories selections of
Albania at youth level.
Then he moved to futsal, where he served the
Albanian National team until 2004, while playing in first division with Dinamo, Erzen, Flabina and KS Ali Demi. Counting on the UEFA B licence as a coach, in futsal Dama has already worked on the Dinamo's bench as assistant coach, then he was first coach at Flabina and KS Ali Demi. Also, he's currently working as coach of the Ali Demi youth academy, for teams of children until 12 years old.
The Albanian national team is experiencing its training sessions (twice a day) in the Durrės
Ramazan Njala sports hall since February 7th to 17th. After the first days of work
Dama declared:
Malta and Greece are on our same level, while Georgia is the strongest team of the group. We need to win all three matches in order to enter the following round, this is our aim. My team has enough technical skills, so that I'll focus my work on the tactical aspect. The main troubles for now are coming from the physical conditions of players, and also given by the fact that the albanian league is played on artificial grass".
