Great news from
Norway, where the local football association has finally announced the "birth" of the first ever
Norwegian Futsal National Team, a great step ahead for futsal development in Norway after the debut of the national league. At the same time Norwegian FA management has appointed
Esten O. Sæther as head coach of the first ever selection, with
Kim Robin Haugen as assistant coach as well as team manager.
The first task for Sæther will be characterized by the Norwegian players evaluation, starting the first national team training sessions on the last weekend of November 2009.
The Norwegian FA has also decided that Norway will participate in the
qualifying round for the World Cup 2012, while in 2010 the technical staff is looking for opponents for friendly matches. Finally, it was reported that both Esten Sæther and Kim Robin Haugen will attend the next European Championship in Hungary, January 2010, in order to taste the international futsal stage for the first ever time.
