Isfahan to host Asian Futsal Championship

Tehran, March 2, IRNA - The first Asian Futsal Championship will be held in Isfahan province in 2009.

Ten countries including Australia, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, China, Thailand, Qatar, Lebanon, Iran and Iraq will participate in the competitions.

Uzbekistan will host the competitions in 2010.



Asian futsal stars likely to play Brazil

TEHRAN, March 2 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iconic Asian futsal players are expected to play world champion Brazil in spring 2009. In the AFC Futsal Committee meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, Abbas Torabian, the chairman of Iran's Futsal Committee, offered this plan.
The top players from Iran, Japan and Thailand will be summoned to play heavyweight Brazil in the match which will likely take place in Thailand.

In the session, Isfahan was selected as the host of the 1st Asian Futsal Clubs Championship as well.
