Team united Birmingham’s good start to the season continued into the FA NATIONAL FUTSAL LEAGUE (midlands), having played their 1st game of the season in the Birmingham FA FUTSAL CUP QUALIFYING LEAGUE against Stafford FC coming out victorious 7-1 it was local rivals Birmingham Tigers who team united would play in there next two games.
The first being in the Birmingham FA Futsal cup league, the game was play at a high tempo that Birmingham Tigers just could not keep up with, this benefited team united who took all 3 points with a 4-2 victory.
For the 2nd time in three days team united Birmingham would face Birmingham Tigers again, the stage was much bigger, this being the opening game of the F.A NATIONAL FUTSAL LEAGUE (Midlands).
The opening five minutes saw chances missed for both teams but it was Birmingham tigers that took the lead with an unlikely header (Davood Marroofi) As time went on the fouls count also went up, before long Birmingham tigers struck again to make the score 0-2 (Pete Valance) With ten minutes remaining in the first half tigers were awarded a 10 metre penalty that was converted by Pete Valance to make the score 0-3.
With 8 minutes remaining in the first half and tigers in control it was a perfect time for team united to score, Nehman Haq made a perfect timed interception in his own half to start a counter attack within seconds Haq was at the other end to score, united confidence was growing and within minutes Habeel Nawaz scored to made it 2-3. It wasn’t long before Thomas Obasi scored from the 10 metre spot to made it 3-3 at half time.
The second half saw team united dominate in possession and take control of the game this paid off with goals from Umar Jawad, Emmaual and a second for Nehman Haq, Birmingham tigers got a 2nd goal late in the half. Final score 6-4.
The game produced a total of 59 attempts on goal from both teams plus the 10 goals. An excellent entertainer for all watching.
