Three youth soccer teams from Cleveland Super Futsal League, division champions at 2009 Super F Champions Cup

Soccer teams from the Cleveland Super Futsal League, run by Otto Orf and Chris Dore, won their divisions in the 2009 Super F Champions Cup last month in Kansas City, Kan.

The winning teams were the U-9 boys, U-11 boys and U-13 girls. The U-11 girls placed third in their division. They are coached by Chris and Tony Dore.

"The coaches and I were absolutely blown away by the performances we witnessed out there on the courts," Orf said. "We knew these young playerswere good, but to bring home titles in three divisions in our first appearance at this national event was quite amazing. It is extremely satisfying knowing that in six weeks we were able to assemble over 40 families from more than a dozen Greater Cleveland soccer clubs and compete."

Over 75 players, parents and coaches made the 14-hour bus drive to Kansas for the tournament.

Futsal is a scaled down version of outdoor soccer played indoors. Games are five-vs.-five and are played on a smaller field, roughly the size of a basketball court, with a smaller ball.
