Both counting on 44 points, with one round left in the play-off series, Omonoia and G.C. School will characterize a Nicosia derby that promises to be an unforgettable event.
April 2nd, h.20.30, live on
Cyprus Sports Live. Don't dare to miss it!
Match broadcasted also on the
Futsal News PortalOne game, one championshipWhoever the winner is, we will celebrate a brand new national champions after many seasons dominated by AGBU Ararat and Parnassos. Definitely an exciting final day, with
Omonoia Nicosia that can play for two results (they would be champions also in case of tie), while
G.C School can just focuse on the match (and league) victory. A rich award for winners: a place in Cypriot futsal story, and another one in the next UEFA Futsal Cup edition, not that bad.
Having been ranked in the best four during the recent seasons, living in the AGBU Ararat and Parnassos wake,
Omonoia Nicosia has invested this year in creating a team with an international flavor, featuring players from Russia and Latvia. Head Coach
Athos Stylianou has managed to put together a solid team with great expectations for the years to come. The main goal include the ambition to build a team able to advance into the UEFA Futsal Cup road as far as possible. Known for its football team, most popular club in Cyprus with thousands of fans all over the island, Omonoia is now moving this reference to futsal and it's a fact that during the season the atmosphere and high attendance records were because of Omonoia fans that followed their team in every game.
On the other hand
G.C School is representing the local base of Cyprus Futsal with 6 international players plus 3 high quality international ones. G.C School has emerged as third power in the Cyprus Futsal stage, behind Parnassos and Ararat during the last 3-4 years and by taking small but solid steps has managed to be near the dream. Notably the only trophy that the “School Kids” conquered so far was the Cyprus Futsal Cup a couple of years ago, when their coach was Omonoia's current trainer
Athos Stylianou!
Cyprus Futsal Fans could not dream of a better end of the season. The Eleftheria stadium in Nicosia will host this great game and a full capacity stadium is expected to experience the "ultimate Futsal"!
Besides Eleftheria in Greek means Freedom, which it could be a kind of "subliminal" message to the whole futsal world about the fact that our sport is ready to get free of all attachments and fly to the sky where it deserves to be!!!
