More silverware for Mucklagh in MSL Futsal Tournament

FOLLOWING on from the this year's league success for the U-11's, Mucklagh FC's U-10's added to the club's silverware this season with a breathtaking victory in the Midland Schoolboys League annual indoor soccer/futsal tournament held in Mountmellick.

As exciting as the victory was over Portlaoise in the quarter-final by 4-3, a stunning 4-2 win on penalties over Mountmellick in the semi-finals demonstrated the courage and heart of the entire squad.

Against a backdrop of heartbreak for an excellent Mountmellick team, the Mucklagh lads brought their A game to the arena and came through in stunning style.

The final against a valiant T&S team was a classic. All squad members played their part with Mucklagh FC coming through 3-2 winners.

Team captain Cian Hornock Johnston and leading goalscorer Andrew Delaney were warmly congratulated by Club Chairman David Bryant and Director of Football Eamonn Brady at the Club’s annual Marathon fundraiser in the Harriers later that afternoon.

This famous victory puts Mucklagh FC in great shape as preparations continue for the club’s upcoming trip to the Wales Spring Football Festival in late May where a party of over 100 players and supporters will travel.
