Tiago Polido's note

Tiago Polido
As reported on past monday (click here to read our article) Tiago Polido, portuguese coach of the italian first division club Arzignano Grifo, was leaving the country putting the "end" word on his italian experience. We talked about a coach decision as this was the indication given by Polido to Futsalplanet.com. The "day after" a press release by Arzignano (have a look here and read the news "Il Grifo cambia allenatore") confirmed that Polido was not more in charge as Arzignano's head coach, replaced by Lucio Solazzi (coach of the first historical "scudetto" of the red and white squad). But that communication described this change on the bench as management club decision rather than as a coach choice, given by the recent disappointing results of the team as well as by a missing agreement for the following season plans. Just some minutes ago we got a clarification from Tiago Polido, who gives below his reasons for the departure from Italy. What is reported is under the responsibility of the Portuguese coach, we're anyway available to "host" in our pages the Arzignano's answer if needed.

"You can call what happened as you prefere, but leaving Arzignano was my choice. One more time the club president didn't keep his promises: ten days ago we agreed a payment formula which was then not accomplished by the club. Then, to stay in Italy, I've asked as a guarantee everything I was in right to have (3 salary months + the Italian Cup prize). No agreement was reached on it, so that the "adventure" is over.

Polido added: We've never talked about the plans for the next season. About some declarations reported on the Futsal Veneto web site forum, I can just say that the club management (as the club president was not in town) has forced me to deny, in favour of the team, the declarations I've given two weeks before to the lusitan portal Futsal Portugal.

Anyway, I want to thanks Arzignano "as institution", as they gave me a great chance to develop my coach skills in a team composed of great players, gaining the way to conquer a title as well. And I left Italy with the satisfaction to have always succeded in the goals asked by the club."
