History Repeated - by Ikhlaq Hussain


Team United Birmingham became winners of the Birmingham Futsal League for the fourth time in five seasons, winning all seven of their games scoring 43 goals on way. This latest victory makes Team United the only club to have achieved this feat on four occasions.

Team United’s Junaid Khan was voted Goalkeeper of the tournament. He produced several match winning performances and conceded less goals than any other goalkeeper in the league.

Boniface Lumumba picked up player of the tournament. He performed superbly in every game, showing his ability to play on every part of the court. His quick thinking, both in offensive and defensive play, was particularly impressive.

Surprise package Streetly School finished runners-up, losing only one game, to Team United. Streetly’s Harry Mason picked up the Golden Boot Award for Top Goal Scorer.

Al-Ansar F.C proved to be another team to look out for in future having finished joint 3rd in their Birmingham Futsal League debut.




The league was well contested over the season and will undoutedly help the growth of Futsal in the area, along with the good work BCC and BCFA are doing to promote Futsal in Birmingham. Chad Elerthson from BCC made the presentations. Well done to all who participated.
