CA Basañez of Montevideo will shortly initiate the promotion phase for their project on all levels (which will have the highest budget of any Futsal club in Uruguay and includes a new stadium, being built at present), which has been named:

Road to Europe. Development Project 2003-2005The project, supported by the government of Uruguay, as well as several institutions, clubs and companies across South America, has four clear objectives:
1.
Establishing contact with and presenting the project to various public and private institutions, in the sports, political and economical sectors.
2.
Placing Futsal and Football players, not exclusively of Uruguayan origin, in European clubs and competitions.
3.
Organising European tours and tournaments for both the Futsal and the Football section of the club. The first tournament experience will be the participation of their Futsal section in the first International CEFA Tournament in Zurich, Switzerland in December 2003. This participation will be declared “of national interest” by the Ministry of Tourism.
4.
Promoting the "brand Uruguay" on a commercial, tourist and cultural level at the events the club participates in.
To organise and streamline these projects, they are looking for representatives in various areas of Europe.
In the second week of February 2003, CA Basañez’s President, Mr. Jorge D’Ambrosio, and their Sports Director, Mr. Daniel Darino, will visit Europe (Barcelona and Switzerland), in order to meet with anybody interested in participating in any of the aforementioned points of the project.
