Tandop City notch a double

TANDOP City FC of Kedah completed the double when they won the Under-12 and Under-16 categories in the third leg of the Milo Hidup Bola Junior Futsal Carnival 09 at the D Futsal Centre in Kangar last weekend.

In the Under-12 final Tandop City beat Selangor's Perantau FC 2-1 while in the Under-16 final, they edged Dynamic FC from Perlis 1-0. The Under-12 champions and Under-16 finalists have thus booked their places in the Grand Finals.

A record 40 teams competed in the Under-16 category and 18 for the Under-12 section which was introduced following popular demand from parents and schools.

The carnival will be held in every Malaysian state -- totalling 14 legs -- every weekend until July 4.

The Grand Finals, comprising the top 32 teams from the Under-16 category and 16 teams from the Under-12, will be held on July 26 in Selangor.

The top four teams from both categories in all 14 legs and the Grand Finals will win cash and other prizes in the form of Milo products, commemorative Milo Hidup Bola balls and Figos jerseys.

The Under-12 and Under-16 champions in the Grand Finals will win savings account bank book vouchers of RM10,000 and RM20,000 respectively.

The fourth leg will be held on Thursday at the Arena Ria Futsal Centre, Bandar Indera Mahkota, Pahang. Entry fee is RM40 per team.
