After conquering the regular season group A with three points more than runners up Teuta Durres, Tirana could celebrate their second title in a row thanks to the four winning matches which characterized the play-off series of the Albanian Futsal League 2008/2009 (6th edition). Starting with a large win in the quarter final game vs Skenderbej Tirana, then the national holders gained all 9 available points in the final four tournament played in Elbasan, giving no chance to KS Ali Demi Tirana, Flamurtari Vlore and Flabina Tirana. The second match vs Flamurtari was stopped on the 2-2 score due to an aggression to referees which involved the Flamurtari Vlore's players: due to this reason the local futsal committee disciplinary board gave the win to Tirana by 2-0. The national champions are therefore ready for one more season in Europe, in the hope to get a better result in comparison with the preliminary round failure of the past season (one tie vs Albertslund IF, losses vs Dinamo Chisinau and host Kaunas). Tirana management is now looking for opponents in Europe, in order to play some friendly matches as a preparation for the next UEFA Futsal Cup preliminary round.
