Brunei Direct60 Teams For Futsal Meet By
Achong Tanjong Bandar Seri Begawan - A Futsal Championship to vie for the challenge trophy donated by the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Adanan will be held from July 18-28 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex in Berakas.
The Championship Executive Organising Committee held a meeting at the Brunei-Muara District Office yesterday chaired by co-chairmen Penghulu Haji Bakar bin Manor and Pengiran Haji Manshor bin Pengiran Haji Jaya.
A total of 60 teams have confirmed their participation and the tournament is organised by Futsal Championship Committee and Brunei-Muara District Sponsorship Working Committee in collaboration with Brunei-Muara District Office and Youth and Sports Department and Football Federation of Brunei Darussalam (FFBD) in conjunction with His Majesty's 63'd birthday celebrations.
The main objective of the tournament is to encourage all levels of communities to celebrate His Majesty's 63'd birthday through sports.
The best futsal team will receive a trophy donated by Penghulu Haji Bakar while the champion team will receive a challenge trophy donated by the Minister of Home Affairs, $2,500 and gold medals.
Second place winner will get $1,800 and silver medals, third place ($1,000 and bronze medals), fourth to sixth places will each receive $500, $400 and $300 respectively.
The championship is open to players in all four districts as well as villages and mukims, ministries, Government departments, universities, collages, secondary schools, private sector, youth sports associations and clubs.
The deadline for entries is July 17 at 3.30pm at Theater Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium Berakas.
