Running fast towards the... past! Seriously talking, the hypothesis coming from some former soviet union countries seems to be quite attractive for futsal fans. As reported on the
Shakhtar Donetsk official web site, in a commentary over an article previously published on the
Azerisport.com portal, those countries are thinking about the chance to create a new league between (we suppose) the top clubs coming from the respective tournaments.
This is what
Kairat Orazbekov (Kairat Almaty president) confirmed in declarations to Azeri Sport. The Kazakh giant top manager added that negotiations have started during the past UEFA Futsal Cup final four in Ekaterinburg (Russia).
Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus and Azerbaijan are likely to take part in the first ever edition, if and when that project would turn into reality. Let's remind that a similar project is also running in the
Balkan area, involving that zone's countries.
