Despite the extremely exciting cheer of the fans at the Phu Tho Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City, the host team were shocked by Suphawut Thueanklang’s very early goal in the first minute of the game. Na-tee Thusiri was the player to score the next two in the 18th and the 26th minutes.
The visiting team continued to prove that they were the number one ASEAN futsal team with a decisive goal by Nattawut Kongnimit in the 36th minute.
Vietnam had failed to break even though Ngo Anh Dung scored a goal for Vietnam in the 38th minute.
The home team came to the final after crushing Timor Leste 21-1 and a 3-0 victory against Philipines.
In the quarter-final, Vietnam defeated Indonesia 11-10 after the penalty shoot-out.
The ASEAN futsal championships was the preparation for Vietnam before the Southeast Asian Games in Laos at the end of the year.
