The Malta Independent On LineDutch coach for Futsal national team?According to the local website maltafootball.com, the MFA is to appoint a new coach for its national Futsal team.
Quoting the official website of The Netherlands Football Association (KNVB), maltafootball.com said that the new coach will be Dutchman Vic Hermans. It claimed the coach has signed a three-year contract.
He will be replacing Michael Striz, who has been in charge of the team for the past three seasons.
Hermans has been coach of the Netherlands for the past eight years but decided against renewing his contract with the Dutch FA.
As a player, he represented The Netherlands 45 times, scoring 23 goals. As a coach, he also had spells with Hong Kong, Malaysia and Iran.
In a comment to the KNVB website, he said his job in Malta would be that of putting the game on a more professional basis, building on what Striz had done over the past years.
