PERSISTENCE paid off for Selangor-based Perantau FC when they beat Bukit Mertajam FC 6-3 to clinch the Perak leg of the Milo Hidup Bola Junior Futsal Carnival at the MP3 Futsal Centre in Seri Manjung last Saturday.
Having lost in the finals of the Selangor, Perlis and Negri Sembilan legs, Perantau FC came from 3-0 down to win the title and their reward is qualifying for the Grand Finals next month.
Another Selangor team -- Sarjana Kalumpang FC -- were third time lucky in the Under-16 event as they beat Mutiara Padu FC from Perak 6-0 in the final.
What made victory even more memorable for Sarjana Kalumpang was the fact that they played the entire tournament with just five players.
Consolation for Mutiara Padu is that they too have qualified for the Grand Finals.
Tengku Zahidi bin Tengku Mohammad,Area Business Manager of the Nestle Perak Branch presented the prizes to the winning teams.
The next leg is on Saturday at the KB Futsal Centre in Kota Baru, Kelantan.
