GUATEMALA LOSES ENCOUNTER AGAINST SPAIN; PREPARES FOR GRAND PRIX DE FUTSALBy

CONCACAFGuatemala’s Futsal Team suffered a 7:0 loss against to the host Spain at the Domo Pabellon Tomelloso in a friendly on 14 June.
This is the first shutout loss for the CONCACAF champion since it they competed in the 2007 Pan American Games.
The second encounter scheduled for 16 June at Domo Pabellon Alcazar de San Juan was cancelled due to flooding in the area caused by severe rain throughout the day.
Guatemala will now return home to begin preparations to compete in the 16-team tournament called “Grand Prix de Futsal” tournament in Anapolis and Goiana, Brazil, from 28 June to – 5 July.
