Grimsby TelegraphGalacticos bid for national glory23 June 2009GAV'S Galacticos will be gunning for national glory when they take on the UK's top five-a-side outfits next month.
Managed by Gavin Watson, the team qualified for the Champion of Champions National Tournament in Sheffield on July 4 by capturing two cup titles in the past two seasons.
The Galacticos, who play at King George V Stadium, Grimsby, made it through to the final 16 last time round.
But after adding new recruits, Watson is confident his side can go all the way this time.
"We've added a few futsal players and I'm confident we could win it" he said.
"We came close last time and now we've got an even stronger squad, so we're in with a shout.
"I think we were very unlucky last time not to get further, but this time I know we can. It's a great test as every team there has won something so there are a lot of good teams.
"With the futsal boys in our squad I think we're a much stronger team and I think that will show this time
"It'll be a really tough tournament, but I'm pretty hopeful for the lads."
