Iran advances to Futsal Grand Prix semifinal

Iran has taken a big step by advancing to the semifinal of Brazil Futsal Grand Prix on Friday.

Iran was held to a 1-1 draw against Ukraine but defeated the European team 5-3 in a penalty shootout.

Iran is scheduled to play Czech Republic on Saturday to book a berth in the final stage.

Hossein Shams, coach of the Iranian outfit, said, “We’ve come to Brazil to advance to the final along with Brazil. Ukraine was a very strong team but our players were focused throughout the game.”
