FIFA Media OfficeCAS CONFIRMS FIFA DECISION ON MORGADO CASEThe Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed on 10 July 2009 the decision taken previously by the FIFA Appeal Committee to suspend Italian futsal player Eduardo Carlos Morgado Oliveira for two years, after the player tested positive during the FIFA Futsal World Cup Brazil 2008. The CAS dismissed the appeal filed by the player against the FIFA Appeal Committee’s decision.
Morgado Oliveira tested positive during the doping control held after the game of the FIFA Futsal World Cup Brazil 2008 between Russia and Italy played on 18 October 2008 (fr, see media release of 18 December 2009:
click here ).
The sanction applies for all matches, whether friendly or official fixtures, at domestic and international level, from 6 November 2008, the date on which the player was first provisionally suspended by the chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
