The regular season champion Crushers F.C. (10-2) secured a spot in the Guam Football Association Men’s Futsal League final after defeating Inter F.C. 7-2 in their semifinal matchup yesterday afternoon at Astumbo Gymnasium in Dededo.
Scott Spindell manhandled the Inter F.C. defense on his way to a game-high five goals. It was nothing new for Spindell, who finished the regular season tied for a league-best 22 goals.
Quality Distributors (9-2-1) also earned a spot in the final by defeating the Cobras 4-1.
Quality’s Matt Welton tallied a hat-trick in his team’s win. Welton finished the regular season with 22 goals, just as Spindell did.
This weekend, fans will get to witness a true battle, as the top two scorers in the league will look to have their biggest games of the season, and propel their team to a championship.
According to Muni Abdullah, league coordinator, the Crushers and Quality will battle for the league championship this Sunday at the Astumbo Gym beginning at 3 p.m. At 2 p.m., Inter F.C. and the Cobras will battle for third and fourth place.
