26 teams to compete in 2010 Futsal Champs qualifiers

The qualifying round of the 2010 Asian Futsal Championship has attracted 26 teams that will be competing in 4 regions: East Asia, West Asia, Southeast, and South and Central Asia, according to the Vietnam Football Federation.

Four teams in South and Central Asia will play in a round-robin format to select 3 teams to enter the final round.

The remaining 22 teams will play in the same format to select group winners and runners-up to qualify for semifinal matches.

The 2010 Asian Futsal Championship will see the participation of 16 teams, of which four are given wild cards, namely Iran, Thailand, Japan and Uzbekistan.

Qualifying round matches will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on February 13-18, 2010.
