16 teams to take part in Futsal Championship

DOHA: Sixteen teams were yesterday divided into four groups each as draw for the Futsal Championship was finalised by the organising committee.

The Qatar Olympic Committee’s (QOC)) Sport For All Committee is organising the event which will be held from August 2 to 15.

The participating teams include Al Shammal Heath Centre, Al Julwa, Tafa, Police Sport Association, Karwa, Qatar Stars League, International Vision, Lakhwiya, Hemaya, Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, QOC, G4S, Barwa Real Estate, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Qatar Football Association and Qatari Al Diyar.

The winners will receive QR20,000 while the runner-up team goes home richer by QR15,000.

According to the rules and regulations, the top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals stage of the event. The event will be held at Al Sadd Stadium indoor hall.
