VIKINGS INTERNATIONAL TOURS

South Brazil
- 14 Boys School Tour: July 2009

On the 26th of July, the most recent squad of Viking Tourists returned from a 15 day stint in the South of Brazil. The group was based at Veranopolis where there were under the guidance of the Athletic Association of Veranopolis. The head of the Association is Flavio Barcellos whom in conjunction with tour Coach Tracy Milzelski, tour Leader Garry Ninnes & Vikings Tours head Juliana Oliveira structure an active stay for the boys consisting of both intense training as well as matches against some of the elite teams in the region. These included ACBF, Top Sport, Fagundes Varela e & Veranopolis. The second part of the tour was with Daniel in Porto Alegre (also in the south of Brazil). Whilst here, in addition to more training, games & sight seeing, the squad attend a Premier League soccer game between International and Santo Andre.


Vikings Futsal NZ will be sending 5 sides to Australia this year to compete at the Vikings National School Futsal Championships that are to be held in Albury/Wodonga, to be held on 28th Sept - 2nd Oct.
Each side has players from across the country, some as far North as Kerikeri and Whangarei and as far South as Wanaka and Cromwell.

Vikings Futsal NZ Tours and Tournaments Coordinator, Rebecca Banfield will head the tour with assistance from managers, Chris O'Keefe and Tim Berends.


GLEBE P.C.Y.C. - INTERCITY FUTSAL

The spring/summer competition is currently scheduled to kick-off on Saturday September 5, 2009 and will run to early March, 2010 (with a break over the Christmas 2009/January 2010 period).

The location is the Glebe Police Community Youth Club – PCYC at 2-4 Minogue Crescent Glebe (across the road from the Harold Park Paceway.

The playing times are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 4.30pm-10.30pm (under 12’s and above) and Saturdays 9am-4pm for under 6/7’s, 8/9’s and 10/11’s. All of these teams can be mixed teams. Our ALL Girls competition, covering the combined age groups 8/9s, 10/11s, 12/13s, and 14/15s will have all games being played on Sundays at the Glebe PCYC.

Each age division is limited to 8 teams per division - so you will need to act fast to ensure your teams are represented.

A Minimim of 7 players per team must be registered for this five a side competition, with a maximum of 12 players per team.
