U.S. COACH, FORMER AMERICAN STRIKER AT HELM OF NEW OUTDOOR FRANCHISEThe
Milwaukee Wave, a member of the
Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced on Jan. 23, that it has acquired an A-League (outdoor) franchise from the United Soccer Leagues to begin play during the upcoming 2003 season. The team will be known as
Milwaukee Wave United and it replaces the former A-League squad Milwaukee Rampage. U.S. Futsal National Team/Milwaukee Wave (MISL) Head Coach
Keith Tozer was named the outdoor franchise’s new general manager, while Wave Assistant Coach
Art Kramer will be at helm of the A-League’s Wave United. Kramer, who brings a wealth of experience to the position, was a striker for the U.S. Five-A-Side (now Futsal) Team in 1987, scoring three goals in four international matches. The St. Louis, Missouri Native previous coached the 1996-97 campaign with the National Professional Soccer League's Toronto Shooting Stars, as well as nine seasons at University School Milwaukee, where he led the Wildcats to three WISAA Division II State Championships.
