PHILIP LILOMOKurukuru starts fundraisingWednesday, 19 August 2009THE Kurukuru Solomon Islands National Futsal team and Solomon Islands under-15 futsal team will kick start their preparation for international duties with a fundraiser this Saturday at the Chung Wah School.
Both Solomon Islands senior and junior national teams will host a coffee night starting at 6pm till late to raise funds which will go towards their international tours.
Kurukuru have been once again crowned the king of Oceania futsal after winning the OFC Futsal Championship in Fiji earlier this year in Fiji.
As a result of that achievement Kurukuru will be making a tour to Libya, Africa October this year.
Kurukuru currently in full training sessions at the Multi purpose hall getting are ready for the international outings.
Also five members of the Kurukuru team are been named in the Oceania Futsal Team which is proposed to tour Europe which awaits confirmation from OFC.
The five players are Captain Elliot Ragomo, Jack Wetney, Micah Lea’alafa, James Egeta and goal keeper Paul Huia.
Meanwhile to join Kurukuru in their preparation are the National under-15 futsal kicking off their preparation to compete in the Australian Futsal Championship early next year.
The under-15 squad has already named their squad and is currently in training for their outings early next year.
Team management from both teams has urged all supporters to turn up during their fundraising this Saturday.
