While waiting for the third South American Women Futsal Championship ready to start in Campinas (SP-Brazil) on next thursday 3rd, CBFS has completed its job regarding the preparation of the Women Liga Futsal 2009. The prestigious national competition will start on next September 14th, with 12 clubs (two more than in the 2008 tournament) fighting in order to claim the 5th edition title. Two groups of six teams will characterize the first stage (round robin formula played in a unique tournament, no home and away matches), with the best four classified entering the quarter final series. The A group will take place in Fortaleza in the Unifor hall, featuring the new entry Sport Recife, first ever club from Pernambuco state attending the women league. São Paulo (hall Pres. Ciro II) is where group B is set to happen. The final match of the Women Liga Futsal 2009 will be played on December 19th.
