The AFC.com Second straight futsal win for IraqThursday, 03 September 2009AMMAN: Iraq won their second straight match at the 2nd West Asian Football Federation Futsal Championship with a 3-2 victory over Syria.
Iraq beat Lebanon 2-1 in their opener as Syria slumped to a second defeat following their 4-1 loss to hosts Jordan.
Bahrain, who had a bye on the opening day, got off to a winning start by beating Lebanon 4-2.
For Iraq, Mohammad Al-Bustani was the hero after he scored the winning goal two minutes from the end.
Abdul-Razzaq Labid and Hashim Al-Saraf scored Iraq’s other goals while Omar Al-Najar and Mohammad Kataya were on target for Syria.
Abdulla Abbass scored a hat-trick for Bahrain, for whom Mohammad Al-Sandi also scored.
Kassem Kawsan and Serge Said scored for Lebanon.
The five-team tournament, which ends on Saturday, features a straight, single round-robin format with the top team declared champions.
