Scarff coaches the coaches

Mike Scarff, former coach for the Reservoir girls varsity soccer team, has been one busy guy. Through the U.S. State Department, he has been teaching foreign coaches and athletes the game of futsal, which is similar to soccer, but is played on a hard surface such as a basketball court with a goalie and five players using a smaller soccer-type ball.

A couple of weeks ago he taught 12 Nigerian national team coaches futsal, and in October a group of 16-and-under girls from Uganda will go through a similar training program. Mike does this work with foreign coaches and teams pro bono.
