The AFC.com14-goal Jordan run riot against BahrainFriday, 04 September 2009AMMAN: Ahmad Aqel scored five goals as Jordan went on a second-half spree to thrash Bahrain 14-5 in their West Asian Football Federation Futsal Championship clash on Thursday.
Ahmad Arab and Mohammad Naji also grabbed three each as Jordan won their second straight match to top the five-team table. This week, they beat Syria 4-1 in their first match.
Mohammad Al-Zoyd, Ibrahim Qandeel and Samer Naser Al-Deen also scored for the hosts, who have six points and are ahead of Iraq on goal difference.
The score was 7-5 to Jordan at half-time and, after the break, the Bahrain defence collapsed to concede another seven goals.
In the other match, Hayssam Atwi scored twice as Lebanon beat Syria 6-1. Kassem Kawsan, Ali El-Homsi, Abbas Fadlallah and Khaled Takaji also scored for Lebanon.
The tournament is played on a single round-robin format with the top team crowned champions.
