The AFC.comIraq crowned WAFF futsal championsAMMAN: Iraq won the West Asian Football Federation Futsal Championship after defeating Bahrain 4-3 in their final match.
The victory gave Iraq 10 points from four matches as their main challengers, Jordan, slumped to a 2-1 defeat against Lebanon.
Jordan, who held Iraq to a 1-1 draw in their previous match, finished on seven points, one ahead of Lebanon and Bahrain.
Syria finished bottom of the five-team tournament after suffering four defeats.
A hat-trick in seven minutes but Hashim Al-Saraf propelled Iraq to victory with Mustafah Hamzah opening the scoring for the champions.
Bahrain’s goals came from Abdulla Abbass, Ahmed Mohamed and Hani Ahmed. Abbass finished as the top goal-scorer in the competition with six goals.
Jordan needed a victory to win the tournament on goal difference and were on course when Samer Al-Deen scored in the 32nd minute.
However, Lebanon hit back with goals from Hayssam Atwi and Khaled Takaji to deny Jordan victory in front of their home fans.
