The StarMatt's on the ball at the FA15 September 2009A NEW football development officer has been appointed by Sheffield and Hallamshire FA to encourage participation and drive up standards.
Matt Handley, aged 24, from Worksop, will hone the FA's running of its award-winning five-a-side Futsal programme and work with schools.
He will also work on the Charter Standard programme which raises the bar for the running of football clubs.
Matt's role includes boosting the number of FA youth teams which have attained Charter Standard status, which currently stands at 68 per cent.
Matt, who has a degree in sports development and coaching from Sheffield Hallam, previously worked for Bassetlaw District Council and was instrumental in the creation of the Bassetlaw Local Football Partnership.
