Kickers in talks with League Football Clubs in being Official Partners

London Futsal Club, Kickers F.C are currently in talks with two League Football Clubs in merging as an official Futsal representative of the club.

The clubs has been approached by two League Football Clubs and a well recognised Non-League outfit who are keen to develop their players in polishing up their all round game and are excited about how this will help the club move forward over the next 5-10 years.

This partnership will be beneficial to both parties, as it will raise the profile of Kickers and will help in developing football players understanding of the game for the future. With a strong core of English players within the Kickers squad, it is believed it will be an advantage in getting English ‘football’ players to adapt & understand the game.

This merger between Kickers and the potential Football Club could be a milestone which the football community have needed in order to move the sport forward and be associated much more closer with the ‘beautiful game.’ Both clubs already have their own youth coaching structures and this will only become stronger once the restructure and merger is completed.

Both clubs believe that many other League Football outfits will follow suit as the pool of children, supporters and media interest will be increased from sporting circles who follow either the 5 a side game or the 11 a side version. The Academy Director of one of the interested League Football Clubs believes that this could potentially change how Football Clubs Academies operate as ‘school boys’ within the Academy structure will be coached with a more specific focus on technique, intelligence, special awareness instead of more traditional attributed previously desired within a football player.

‘The game is evolving all the time and we are looking to build a partnership with Kickers in order to help us develop our Academy players for what the game will be like in 5 years time and not to what the game is like at present. Predicting what the game will be like in 5 years is difficult, but by having an official Futsal club gives us more resources and help in at least making sure that all our players have the best opportunities possible in fully developing their all-round game and being established professionals.’ Academy Director, August 2009

Countries like Spain, Italy and Brazil are consistently producing talented football and futsal players year in year out. Spain and Italy over the years have decreased in taking as many Brazilian players as their professional leagues are now starting to produce their own players which has helped in the National team becoming Internationally recognised as leaders within the sport globally. This is surely what the English game should and need to have developing in the pipeline.

Futsal is regarded in a very high light by leading ex-professionals who believe it is still the best education tool for players. (Zico, Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinhio Robinhio etc…). The production of English football and Futsal players may very well be a problem that could be solved or assisted by giving Futsal a more visible role within the development of our aspiring football and futsal boys/girls aged between 8-16.

With talks going on between Kickers Futsal Club and two Football League Clubs, we can only hope that something is agreed and put in writing for the future as this surely is the next step closer to the club and the sport achieving its inevitable place as a fundamental tool for educating our future football and Futsal stars.
