MAKSWIP To Organise Futsal Championship In Ampang

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- The Federal Territory Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (MAKSWIP) will organise the 9th Men and Women's Futsal Championship from Oct 9 to 11.

Organising committee chairman Qusmaini Noor Rusli said unlike the previous championships, the upcoming one would be held at Sports Planet in Ampang, which was more spacious.

"For the past eight years, we have been using the indoor courts at the Titiwangsa Lake Park. This year, the committee would like to do something different," Qusmaini told team managers during a briefing session here, Wednesday.

Qusmaini said the upcoming championship was expected to end earlier as it would be using six courts -- two for the women's teams and four for the men's.

Qusmaini said 64 men's teams and 21 women's teams would take part in this year's championship.
