Brazilian Futsal Committee visit London On past saturday, September 20th, the Brazilian Futsal Committee had a brief stop in England, as they did land in Heathrow Airport at 7:00am with connection at 19:00 pm to Iran for 3 friendly matches. They had therefore 12 hours to enjoy the city of London. The other members of the Brazilian team left their clubs to join the delegation in Iran, as all players but the goalkeeper Franklin are playing in Europe.
The Brazilian Committee then came to London with the head coach Marcos Sorato
"Pipoca", assistant coach
Vander Iacovino and also the CBFS chairman Dr.
Aécio de Borba Vasconcelos and the rest of the members.
Simon Walker, responsible of England Futsal and head coach Peter Sturgess weren't available to give their welcome in person to the brazilian delegation but they did write a welcome letter offering a warm welcome to England. They had a different reception but also familiar through the player
Pablo de Oliveira, first brazilian player to wear the England Futsal Shirt. Pablo said:
"It was a great honour to welcome the brazilian futsal team in England, we are old friends and we have a good relationship. We spent some time together sharing experiences about futsal in England and how good the things are done over here, futsal is growing very fast in U.K. and there are people with passion for futsal across the country. Soon or later England will be one of the strongest futsal team in the world, I believe and I hope that, just a matter of time." The Brazilian head coach Marcos Sorato told that:
"The futsal world is a very small family and we get information all over, I have heard good feedbacks from England and I know that Peter Sturgess is doing a great job with England Futsal Squad and I believe that won't be a problem for England to develop players across United Kingdom as they are the strongest over there so far. Hopefully next time we're going to have more time to meet each other and talk a bit more about futsal.". The Brazilian commission exchanged the traditional brazilian shirts for the 3 lions and they looking forward to spend good time with Peter Sturgess, Simon Walker and the boys from England.
