Futsal trip to west cancelled

SOLOMON Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Futsal Development Officer Victor Waiia’s planned trip to Noro town and Viru in the Western Province has been postponed.

SIFF Media reported this is due to the sudden death of Waiia’s mother in South Malaita on Saturday.

He was scheduled to travel to the Western Province on Sunday to run Futsal Coaching and Refereeing programs.

His trip was planned following strong expressions of interest coming from the communities in Noro and Viru.

SIFF General Secretary Eddie Ngava said it is too early at this stage to comment on another tentative date for the trip.

“Our thoughts at this moment are with the family of Victor Waiia who are dealing with a great loss,” he said.
