New futsal season started in Kosovo

On 17 and 18 October 2009 were played matches of the new futsal league first round in Kosovo. As a first surprise the 2008/2009 season holders Feniks from Prizren were defeated by Tradita from Skenderaj. Space Club Peja also registered a defeat from Fan Llapi. Apart from Bamboo from Prishtina, which triumphed over Vitia, teams that joint superleague this season started badly the new season in the elite of Kosovo futsal. FC Dreni showed great qualities on their match against Perlepnica, whereas Blla Blla lads where superior against QR At L. Mazreku. 40 goals were scored in the first round: 12 of them during the match between Space Club Peja and Fan Llapi.

Improvements on quality compared to the past season are remarkable. Most of the teams were very active during the preparation stage. Professional work has been engaged, improving therefore the physical and technical capabilities of teams and players. This season is perceived to be a very competitive as the “play-off” series have been introduced in the fight for the title. This will keep the fight alive for each and every position on the table.
