Brazil hand futsal lesson to Belarus

Belarus became the latest of the UEFA European Futsal Championship finalists to suffer defeats at the hands of Brazil after two heavy losses.

Heavy defeats
The FIFA Futsal World Cup holders have secured double wins against Russia and in Portugal in the last month, and a domestic-based Brazil team overcame Belarus 8-0 and 9-0 in the state of Rio de Janeiro to stretch their current run to 24 consecutive victories and 136 games unbeaten since losing a friendly to Spain on 8 December 2005. Belarus, drawn with Spain and Portugal in Group D in the European finals from 19 January, return to action in a four-nation tournament in Antwerp, meeting Russia on 28 December and Serbia the following day. Meanwhile, the next side to challenge Brazil are EURO hosts Hungary on Sunday and Monday.
