Futsal's Olympic Bid One Step Closer

Futsal has officially been added to the Inaugural World Winter Masters Games (the Olympics for recreational athletes) as a promotional sport, pushing it one step closer to reaching its ultimate goal -- becoming a true Olympic sport.

The games will be held in Bled, Slovenia from Jan. 25-31, 2010. According to the official website for the games, Futsal (or indoor football) will host games in eight different sports halls in Bled. Other sports that will be featured include ice hockey, cross-country skiing and ski jumping.

Any athlete over the age of 25 may enter the Games until Dec. 24, 2009. For more information, visit www.2010mastersgames.com.
