The AFC.comEast Asians next in line for Futsal qualifiersTuesday, 17 November 2009KUALA LUMPUR: With two regions done, it is the turn of the East Asian giants to beat a path to the AFC Futsal Championship 2010 Finals.
Seven countries from East Asia line up in Beijing next week for three places in the Finals. Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and Macau are in Group A while Group B comprises China, Korea Republic and Guam.
Kyrgyzstan, Tajikstan and Turkmenistan became the latest teams to qualify for the finals when they finished as the top three teams in the South & Central qualifiers in Vietnam last week.
The Kyrgyz team won the four-team tournament with seven points, two ahead of Tajikistan with Turkmenistan third on four points.
Afghanistan failed to earn a single point and finished bottom.
West Asia completed its qualification tournament last month with Lebanon, Iraq and Kuwait winning the three tickets to the finals.
The final qualifying competition, involving Asean teams, is scheduled for February.
