PASSPORTS of Solomon Islands Under-15 Futsal players were among items lost in the burning of Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) administration building at Lawson Tama.

The building was set alight by rioting fans last Saturday.

SIFF Futsal and Beach Soccer Development Officer Victor Waii confirmed the missing passports yesterday.

“The passports belong to ten players and two officials.

“The team is expected to travel to the Australian National Futsal Championship January next year,” he said.

Waii said they are currently working on consulting the players’ parents to prepare new passports in time before the championship.

“Of course, we will sort things out with the Immigration Office,” he said.

The passports were among other items lost when the building was set on fire by angry fans that disputed the match referee’s decision in the Solomon Cup match between Malaita Eagles and Honiara Warriors.

Angry fans looted the SIFF Sports Shop and removed other valuable items and a substantial amount of cash from the tickets office, before setting the building on fire.
