"Not entering the Elite round in the Uefa Futsal Cup was a big disappointment, but aside from that our season has been successful", said Golden Coach
Teemu Eskola whose side has played 21 matches this season losing only twice.
Also playing in the Finnish Futsal Cup final four next week, Golden are aiming for the double this season.
"No one has ever got the double in Finland yet, but this year I’m confident we’ll rewrite that little piece of history", Eskola said.
Holding on to second place in the league are Tervarit from Oulu having lost only to Golden early in the season.
Third place Kampuksen Dynamo from Jyväskylä, who won their promotion from the second division only last season, have showed to feature the quality to compete on top level. Something impressive considering that only three years ago Dynamo was playing futsal in the third division.
"Well, we knew that we would have a competitive team this year, but our goal was to secure a place in the league for next season. But, let’s see, if it looks like we can conquer a place in the play-offs, then yes, of course we’ll fight for that spot", said Dynamo coach
Samu Kytölä showing a low profile attitude.
Kytölä was the clubs long time head coach, but now works as Tero Kelhälä's assistant.
So far Dynamo have managed to gain 13 points. A few times the team has showed great character by coming back to win after being behind in the last minutes.
"It means we have a lot of self-confidence. We got used to winning last season and I guess we’re keeping that going this year. Our players are also very fit at the moment", Kytölä said.
Holding on to the final playoff slot are TPK from Turku, but lurking right behind are Mad Max from Valkeakoski and Ilves from Tampere that are looking to secure a place in the top four by the end of the regular season.
