LA Soccer NewsFutsal first facility to open in TorranceSouthern California’s first indoor soccer center devoted to five-a-side indoor soccer, called futsal, will open on Saturday in Torrance. South Coast Soccer City, a 73,000 square foot building will accommodate five futsal fields, as well as two full size soccer fields.
The owners of the complex have converted a former warehouse for the facility. In addition to the fields South Coast Soccer City will have a 4,000 square foot performance training center, four rooms for birthday parties and corporate events, a homework room, a cafe and a 1,400 square foot merchandise area.
According to Kevin Gilmore, President of Socal Soccer City Holdings, the facility will have programming from U-6 through adult.
“Our programming is intended to appeal to everybody,” Gilmore said.
Leagues will include those for youth and adult players, as well as toddler programs and mommy and me programs.
Full 8-week adult leagues are expected to start in January.
